Environment and Sustainability

 

This group was formed by ABRE in order to give its members the coverage and representation in the packaging market concerning the different environmental issues in which the sector acts.

The recycling of packaging is a strategic issue for the sector and it increasingly stands out among ABRE's activities.

Objectives

Follow up on State and Federal Law Projects on the environmental issues
Promotion of courses, seminars, new technologies and trends
Promotion of the importance of the environmental preservation


Packaging Sustainability Guidelines

The Brazilian Packaging Association - ABRE has taken over the challenge to develop the “Sustainability guidelines for the productive chain of packages and consumer goods”. Aiming to enable each company to make its self-evaluation on environmental and sustainability metrics, ABRE has develop a table that brings what sustainability stands for packaging and packed products along their life-cycle.

The entity has also created the Recycling Pictogram, which establishes an easy and quick identification in order to guide the consumer to selectively discharge the packaging.
