This group was formed by ABRE in order to give its members the coverage and representation in the packaging market concerning the different environmental issues in which the sector acts.

The recycling of packaging is a strategic issue for the sector and it increasingly stands out among ABRE’s activities.

Objectives

Follow up on State and Federal Law Projects on the environmental issues
Promotion of courses, seminars, new technologies and trends
Promotion of the importance of the environmental preservation

In 2004, ABRE launched the PBR – The Brazilian Recycling Program with the purpose of stimulating the implementation programs for selective collection and to push forward the recycling of packaging, generating means so that this collection becomes more widespread and effective, increasing the already high levels of recycling done in Brazil.

The entity has also created the Recycling Pictogram, which establishes an easy and quick identification in order to guide the consumer to selectively discharge the packaging.
