ABRE’s member, Avery Dennison (www.averydennison.com) ended 2013 with a positive performance in sustainable actions: there was an increase in waste reduction in all operation in South America, including the Brazilian plant, in Vinhedo (state of São Paulo). In 2013 the percentage of waste sent to recycling or that was used to generate energy was more than 70% in the region, against 60% registered in 2012.
The South American performance is aligned with the global strategy of the company: zero waste in all plants in long terms. The company intends to reduce the waste disposal in 85% until 2015. For this, there are a lot of activities being done with external partners in a way of reducing, reusing and recycling the waste.
